RSPB Lake Vyrnwy comprises a range of habitats including oak woodland, conifer plantations, heather moorland and meadows and, of course, a large reservoir owned by Severn Trent Water.
Outside the visitor centre and shop and the hide alongside the car park there are feeding station, where you can get good views of many woodland birds, including Marsh Tit, Nuthatch and Siskin.
I've only explored a small area of the reserve and not ventured on to the heather moorland.
